The mission of the Heritage Guild is Preservation, Education and Celebration.

The Guild was founded in 1974 with the purchase of the Dulaney House and Cottage. Other buildings and property were added over time.

Members of the Heritage Guild receive free guided tours, discounts on popular public events, and free members only events. Your membership dues support our operational expenses and are the foundation of any museum organization.

Our campus is made up of 10 main buildings and 5 ancillary structures: five houses including the oldest house in McKinney, a reproduction of the JB Wilmeth one room Schoolhouse, a general store, a chapel, a reception building and administration offices – plus a barn, a carriage house, a smokehouse, an outhouse and a blacksmith shop.

In addition to public and private tours, we offer school field trips and tours, educational programming, a variety of special events and the widely acclaimed McKinney Farmers Market.

Chestnut Square is a popular, award winning wedding venue. Our unique configuration of flexible indoor and outdoor facilities are sure to make your day historic.
