McKinney- The first three sessions of Prairie Adventure Camp 2005 have been such a great success, that Chestnut Square Historic Village in Downtown McKinney has decided to offer one more camp session this summer. During the camp, attendees participate in butter making, weaving, campfire cooking, rug making, soap making, tending a kitchen garden, making old time toys and playing games of yesteryear. Students are de-modernized and provided with 19th century clothing the length of the camp. The camp will be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 26-28. Chestnut Square Historic Village is a historic site containing seven structures including a stagecoach inn, chapel, store, schoolhouse and homes from 1850-1920. For people interested in sending their child to the unique camp, you may call and pre-register at 972-562-8790.
