The Heritage Guild of Collin County Announces Annual Holiday Tour of Historic Homes

The Heritage Guild of Collin County announces their annual “Holiday Tour of Historic Homes” to be held Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4. This year the tour features five private homes decorated for the Holidays in the McKinney Historic District. The tour also includes Chestnut Square Historic Village, a collection of five houses, a one room schoolhouse, a stage coach inn, a chapel and a general store dating back to 1854 set in a delightful 2 and a half acre setting. Visitors to Chestnut Square will also enjoy costumed artisans demonstrating blacksmithing, weaving, spinning, knitting, Dutch oven cooking and much more. Baked goods and community crafts will be for sale and stage coach rides will be available to the Downtown Square from the Village.
Tour proceeds benefit the ongoing restoration, preservation and maintenance at Chestnut Square.
Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door; $8 if purchased in quantities of 10 or more in advance. Tickets are available at Chestnut Square, 315 S. Chestnut Street in McKinney and online at www.chestnutSquare.org.
On Tour Days tickets may be purchased at any tour location. The homes selected this year are:

• 509 W Tucker
• 506 W Hunt
• 315 Waddill Street.

The Tour of Homes and Village will be open 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, December 3 and 1 pm to 5 pm Sunday December 4. Chestnut Square, located at the corner of Chestnut and Anthony Streets, will open one hour earlier each day at 9 am Saturday and noon on Sunday.
